An application programming interface (API) is a particular set of rules (‘code’) and specifications that software programs can follow to communicate with each other. It serves as an interface between different software programs and facilitates their interaction, similar to the way the user interface facilitates interaction between humans and computers.
Simply put, an API gives us the ability to seamlessly integrate a program or system into your website. No user should feel that they have navigated away from your website, so when an API is integrated correctly the User Experience will be fluid throughout.
IDX (Internet Data Exchange) gives us the ability to pull active MLS listings directly into your website. There are over 90 MLS databases in the United States and each may require a different method and language to properly integrate.
*Please note that your local MLS may charge a monthly fee for MLS integration
